Back in 1991, The Rotary Club of the Caldwells had dream.  The dream was to
have an old fashioned street fair that would be a fun day for the entire family,
while at the same time raising funds to help the community.  Knowing that this
endeavor would require many people to make it successful, the Rotary Club
approached the Kiwanis Club of Caldwell-West Essex and, the Rotary/Kiwanis
Caldwell Street Fair was born.  The first Street Fair was held in October 1992
and was a huge success, attracting almost 10,000 people.  It has been held
every year since on the first Sunday of October and today, attracts crowds of
over 30,000!
